This week I want to share a snippet from my Demon Noir. <\/span>Soul Trader: The Diamond Affair<\/u><\/span><\/a> is the first in a series which could be described as Quantum Leap meets Lucifer!\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

Demons can possess any body, so they are beyond binary gender concepts. All the demons in this series use They\/Them pronouns, and are attracted to the soul, not the body. This one has recently been released<\/span> as an audiobook, narrated by the fabulous Dr. Jennifer M. Anyway, most recently, I\u2019ve been a gumshoe on the streets of New York City. The year is 1938, the world is on the brink of war and I have two main types of case: adultery and theft. Humans never change.<\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>

\u201cThere\u2019s a Mr. John Smith here to see you,\u201d Paulette\u2019s dulcet Bronx tones crackle over my intercom.<\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>

\u201cSend him in,\u201d I say, holding the button. The name sounds about as genuine as a nine dollar bill, but there ain\u2019t nothin\u2019 unique about that. I move to the window and open the shutters, so the light is behind me. When I\u2019m in my natural form there is something off about my appearance which makes humans anxious. Afraid almost. It\u2019s best he doesn\u2019t get a good look until I get the facts of the case.<\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>
