I cheated a bit with this one, as it\u2019s a flash I wrote a while ago, but this is the first time it\u2019s been published! The prompt was Ink! Let me know what you think, and hit me up here or on socials with a prompt for next week!<\/p><p><img src=\"https:\/\/images.teemill.com\/jhlvqysp5s05lhbxudsiqxqmircclychfqx1gj28dzlegkx8.jpeg.jpg?w=1140&amp;h=auto\" alt=\"jhlvqysp5s05lhbxudsiqxqmircclychfqx1gj28dzlegkx8.jpeg.jpg?w=1140&amp;h=auto\" \/><span style=\"font-family:'Times New Roman', serif;\">\u201cWe\u2019re just concerned.\u201d Doctor Rivera leaned in and studied Megan. \u201cIt\u2019s only been two weeks and you\u2019re already back at work. Losing a spouse requires time to grieve. What we do here is emotionally draining; we absorb so much from our patients. Are you sure you\u2019re ready to be back?\u201d<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-family:'Times New Roman', serif;\">\u201cI can\u2019t be alone in that house, Shaun.\u201d Megan looked earnestly at her friend. \u201cEverything reminds me of her. At least here I have a purpose\u2026\u201d She stopped. Her eyes were caught again by the framed inkblot test that hung on the wall behind the sofa.\u00a0<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-family:'Times New Roman', serif;\">\u201cWhat?\u201d Rivera turned to follow her gaze. \u201cI always see a beetle,\u201d he laughed lightly. \u201cI don\u2019t want to know what that says about me.\u201d<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-family:'Times New Roman', serif;\">\u201cMaybe something about your music taste?\u201d Megan pulled her gaze away from the inkblot, which seemed to her to be pulsing.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-family:'Times New Roman', serif;\">\u201cYou look tired, Megan,\u201d he said gently. \u201cDo you want to use our holiday home for a few days? Have a change of scene?\u201d<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-family:'Times New Roman', serif;\">\u201cNo.\u201d Megan paused. \u201cThank you, Shaun. I just want to work. I\u2019m fine, really.\u201d<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-family:'Times New Roman', serif;\">\u201cAlright,\u201d he stood up reluctantly. \u201cLet me know when you\u2019re ready to leave, I\u2019ll walk you to your car.\u201d He stood up and left her office.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-family:'Times New Roman', serif;\">Megan followed him to the door and locked it. She was tired. The inkblot was still pulsing. Shaun didn\u2019t see it. She was just tired.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-family:'Times New Roman', serif;\">She picked up her coffee and looked again. The image was bigger. It was coming towards her, out of the frame. She screamed.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-family:'Times New Roman', serif;\">Shaun burst through the locked door to find a broken coffee cup on the floor. No sign of Megan, or any signs of a struggle. He looked around.
